We misinterpreters of the Old Masters are guilty of many misdemeanours. Substandard alliteration, appalling puns, captions of questionable taste are but a few of our failures. However, sexism isn’t one of them; for today we mercilessly shred the talents of one Judith Leyster. A Dutch painter, she was born in 1609 and curled up her tootsies in 1660.
